{Just joining me for the first time for my 31 day series? Click here to catch up! Then come back to this post!}

It’s amazing the power words can have over me. Negative, and yes, positive! Which is why it’s so important to be meditating on positive and calming scripture when those anxious or overwhelming moments arise!

So here we go. These are my go-to 10 de-stressing verses to meditate on out of the Bible for when those stressful, overwhelming, worrisome, heart-breaking, or fearful moments arise trying to cause anxiety or stress in my life. (For ease of translation, all passages are cited in the NIV version.)

(1) “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

(2) “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear,” (1 John 4:18)

(3) “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3)

(4) “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27)

(5) “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:34)

(6) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

(7) “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4)

(8) “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

(9) “Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”’ (Matthew 19:26)

(10) “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1)

BONUS: “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)

Write these scripture verses to memory in your heart. Believe it. Trust it. Walk with confidence in the truths God has defined in His Word over and over and over again.

The truths in these verses will set you free!
