(A short poem for you on Memorial Day…)
A time to ponder, a time to rest.
A time to wonder, a time to cast.
A time to experience the burdens past.
A time to embrace the flag on mast.
We need remember those warriors who fought,
To declare freedom on soils bought,
With a price far greater than gold,
Blood and sweat and tears were sold.
Freedom won, but souls were lost,
Let us remember the price it cost.
See the flag of red, blue and white,
Raised again through warriors might.
Be thankful today for those souls spent,
Honoring generations now lived and went.
